The phony “workers’ peace”

The CCI supports workers’ struggles for people’s rights, but not the phony “workers’ peace”

Concerning the events surrounding the issue of low-wage workers, the Cyprus Communist Initiative points out that the strategy of the government and the ruling class is not decent wages and workers’ rights but the surplus budgets of the state and big capital.

For this reason, the government and the ruling class are, at best, throwing a few crumbs from the table to the workers while at the same time subsidizing and providing tax relief for big capital, foreign and local. This is the treatment that both the low-paid in the public and wider public sector and the vast majority of private sector workers receive, without ATA (COLA / cost of living adjustment) and other basic means to live and prosper.

The CCI supports workers’ struggles for people’s rights, but not the phony “workers’ peace” that leads to the sacrifice of the living standards of workers and their families who suffer the class war of capital and big business on the altar of wealth accumulation by the few.
